This is an oil rig/platform. There are only two oil rigs that lego made (9486 and 373), but those are very small with only a few details. I wanted to have a big structure and an oil platform is perfect for that. The model counts 2700 bricks, with big bricks to make the structure, but also a lot of small bricks to realise the details.

This is made to be a display piece and therefore is not minifiger size .The idea of this set is not to encourage sea drilling. its just to show a part of life which is rarely looked upon.furthermore it is made to look like the ocean is crashing around it so it in the middle of a vast ocean. It was made specially for Ramb&248;ll to showcase in a convention.. unlike the Vestas windmill, which was given to any employee they can find (which has such a large workforce they issued set numbers).I don't think so any driller living on the Ramb&248;ll oil rigs have any time to tinker with these little bricks so I guess they made very very very few of the rig sets.. too few to be given a LEGO SET 373 Shell Offshore Oil Rig With Fuel Tanker. Thanks to my experience, ingenuity and dedication to build models and objects with LEGO, I was able to develop this project.
